MICHELE C. LEFKOWITZ, ESQ.Michele joined Partners in 2012 as Director of Legal Programs. Under her leadership, our attorneys and client advocates provide legal advice and representation for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with regard to final restraining order hearings, protective order hearings, and issues related to child custody, visitation, and support. Michele spearheaded the expansion of Partners’ services, both geographically and by establishing new legal programs. She was instrumental in growing Partners’ Pro Bono Programs to a level that required the creation of a Director of Pro Bono Programs position. She has also done significant work to effect systemic change in policies that impact the safety, wellbeing and quality of life of all victims of domestic violence.

Michele has been a practicing attorney for nearly two decades and previously worked in the private sector on complex commercial litigation, while maintaining a substantial pro bono caseload. She serves as a member of the Essex County, Union County, and Middlesex County Domestic Violence Working Groups, serves on the Pro Bono Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and sits on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts. Michele holds an undergraduate degree from New York University and a law degree from Fordham University School of Law.
